Cooking Timer — Privacy Policy
Cooking Timer is a free, ad-supported kitchen timer. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. In short: your timers never leave your phone, and the only third-party service in the app is Google's advertising SDK, which you can control through the consent choices described below.
Information the app keeps on your phone
Your timers (their names and durations) and your settings (sound, vibration and alarm tone) are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. They are not sent to GetProf or to anyone else. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them.
Advertising
The app shows banner ads provided by Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). To serve and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, the SDK may collect and process information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address (from which an approximate location may be inferred), device and app information, and how you interact with ads. This information is collected by Google, not by GetProf, and is handled under Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Your consent choices
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before ads may use your data, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can change your choice at any time from the app's menu: Privacy settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalisation, in your phone's settings (Settings › Privacy › Ads, or Settings › Google › Ads, depending on your device).
Notifications and alarms
The app asks for permission to show notifications so it can display running timers, and it schedules alarms on your phone so a timer rings on time. Neither involves sending any information off your device.
Cookies and similar technologies
The app itself does not use cookies. The Google Mobile Ads SDK uses your advertising ID and similar device identifiers, which do the job of cookies inside an app, to serve ads, limit how often you see them and measure them. Your consent choices and your phone's ad settings control how they are used.
Links to other sites
Tapping an ad, or a link in this policy, opens a website that GetProf does not operate. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and GetProf is not responsible for their content or practices.
Children
Cooking Timer is not directed at children under 13, and GetProf does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
Information collected by the advertising SDK is transmitted using encryption (HTTPS). Information stored on your phone stays in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
